And the Jury is in.....

Jurying is in - For both the Muskegon Art Museum 84th Regional Exhibition and Festival of the Arts Regional Exhibition. And to quote my husband, I am batting 1000! I submitted 2 pcs to each show and was fortunate enough to have each show accept both works. The first two images shown here were juried into the Muskegon show. The first piece, River Bend, is acrylic and cut paper collage. Acrylic is a relatively new medium for me in the last year and I especially like it for working in the field as it dries almost immediately. River Bend was actually painted in my car this past January while down at Riverside park. The second image - In the Middle of Things, is oil on canvas. 12x24.

The second set of images are the paintings accepted into the Festival of the Arts Regional Exhibition. Blues and Whites won a Warner, Norcross & Judd Purchase prize and is an oil on canvas. Along the Grand is a small oil on paper.

Near Nine Mile  oil on paper

There is something about painting on paper that I love. The smoothness of the surface, the way the paint sits on top of it, the feel of the thing after its dry.
