Am happy to announce that this plein aire painting was recently accepted into the 81st Muskegon Museum of Art Regional Exhibition. This particular piece was painted last August on location at Kelderhouse Farm in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.
I have been working as a freelance illustrator since graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in 1992. My commercial career has included projects for many national and regional clients; American Greetings, Mc-Graw Hill Publishing, Booth Newspapers, North Star Teacher Resources, to name a few.
The crossover from illustrator to fine artist seems to be a natural one for me. Much of my mispent youth was spent in Northern Michigan, where I developed a love for the serenity and beauty of the woods and the "Big Lake". Time and time again, I find I am still drawn to those places. I have exhibited work in galleries in Traverse City, Harbor Springs and Grand Rapids, MI.
